Day 31 of 365: Skincare Routine

Above are skin care products that I use every day to remove dirt and grimes on my face.

Brief details about my skin type:

• Majority parts of my face is oily
• Occasional breakouts (worst when the time of the month is coming)
• Whiteheads love to nestle on my skin.
• From various experiment / tryouts, I think my skin reacts to alcohol. It lives red blotchy patches and   sudden growth of pimples
• My skin tone is olive.

First up is the Olay Fresh Cleanser - Clarity (Oily / Combination). I have been using this cleanser religiously since my secondary school days. I do so often change my cleanser, but I will always come back to this bad boy. It is a gentle and basic cleanser.  It does not 100% remove makeup. Personally for me it does its job in removing dirt, however, it does not remove oil on my face. After washing for about 10 mins or so, my face will turn into an oil slick. But I don't care about that because I like how the oil makes my face look dewy! (I know its disgusting but oh well instant dewy look for me). What I like about this product is that it does not leave my skin feeling tight / dry up after using it. Some of the cleansers I've tried in the past, does that and I don't like the feeling of it.

After cleansing, I jump straight to moisturiser. Yes, I don't use serum neither do I use toner. I'm not sure whether I should incorporate those 2 in my routine, but oh well, maybe in the future I might need them, Anyway, my holy grail moisturizer at the moment is Clinique's - Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel.  I bought the mini size because I'm not ready to commit to their huge ass bottle packaging. This product in particular has mixed reviews. Some people liked it, some people don't. At the minute, I'm liking it. It does not contain alcohol and it does its job in locking in moisture for my face. The smell and the colour of this moisturiser does not bother me at all.

Next is eye cream. My go to eye cream at the moment is from The Body Shop, Moisture White Shiso Range - Shiso Eye Cream. I use this because my mom uses it and she said it was good. Honestly, when I use this, I only notice that I rub my eyes less ?! Weird but yeah ! Before this came along, my eyes will itch like nobody's business, however after using it, less itch! Another reason as to why I use an eye cream, is to prevent wrinkles appearing. Yes, I know I'm only in my early 20s, but hey, prevention is key right ?! Anyway, does this product live up to what the company said ? Nope. I don't see it as being brightening and bringing out the luminosity in my skin especially the eye area. Nevertheless, I'm still using merely to reduce my itches around my eye area.

Twice a week, I will use my Follow Me - UV Aqua White Renewal Gel. As the name suggest, it is a gel formula scrub. This scrubs doesn't dry my skin. My skin feels smooth after using it.

Lastly, masks ! I can't live without it ! There's nothing much to say about them. They're the bomb.com ! The ones in the picture above are suited for my skin type and they are from a Korean beauty brand called The Face Shop. I will say that these masks do give me the results that I want after applying it. It does what it says in the packaging. I highly recommend, Korean face masks because they are the best in the market right now !
