Hey there I'm back with another review ! This time is the Lash Princess Volume Mascara from Essence.
I was browsing through the aisle of Watson looking through the beauty section to see what I can get for my " $50 Budget Beauty Buys " when I spotted this mascara. I was attracted by the cute packaging (bows, ribbons, corset and pink ) ! Mascara fit for a royal princess eh ?!
I have tried Essence mascara (Get Big Lashes - Volume Boost Mascara) before and I swear by it. It is still my holy grail mascara. Essence's mascara all are under $10. So when I saw this, I picked it up immediately.
I was excited to try this after I had mixed feelings about the L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara. I have been using this mascara for about a week and so far I'm liking it. When I opened it, I was mesmerised by the shape of the wand. It is shaped like a cobra head ! Bearing in mind that I did not even open the tester to have a look at the wand. I'm not a fan of the bristles though because it is plastic.
As for the formulation, it is quite a wet formula. Not so much like the Miss Manga. It coats my lashes well. It does give the volume that I'm looking for. But, for work, I usually apply the mascara lightly to my lashes. Even with a light application, it still gives my lashes that definition that I'm after for.
However, this mascara, if you over applied, it tends to compromise the separation of lashes. Though it is not so much of a case, but if you like me and hate seeing lashes stick together, then this can be a disappointing product. Seeing as I apply the mascara lightly for work, I have no problem with it. This mascara does provide some clumpy-ness to the lashes therefore, be careful when you do multiple coats.
The staying power of this mascara is awesome ! Though it did not state whether this mascara is waterproof or not, it certainly does not budge or flake on me ! The best part about this mascara, it removes off easily ! Good for me as mascara that I've tried so far tend to cling to my lashes like cray cray !
On a side note, please beware of the bristles as it is quite spiky. Once, I accidentally poked my eye and it hurts like B**** !!!
At the end of the day, mascara is a personal thing. You either hate it or love it. Whether this mascara is fit for a princess, not really, but for me it does wonders to my lashes.
If you want to try something new and wish to spend your money, do give this a try ! Or if you have tried this mascara before, please leave your thoughts in the comment section below. I would love to hear what you guys think about it ! Or if you have not, just say hi, promise I won't bite ;)
