I have high hopes on this lipstick when I first bought. I was stocked because of the shade and also this would be my first time trying out Etude House product. I have always been interested in trying something from Etude House but every time when I'm in that shop I would be overwhelmed by all the colours and cute packaging that I end up not buying anything.
I was particularly interested in their lipsticks. We all know that Koreans love their bright coloured lipsticks. However, I was not into the bright shades, I was looking for an everyday nude lipstick that I can wear to work.
I came across the shade, 07 in Tea Rose. It is a brown shade with pink undertone in it. It ticks all the boxes for an everyday lipstick colour. As you may have already know, I have quite pigmented lips. I need something with a strong colour pay off. Before purchasing, I did some researched online. I saw some swatches and watched some tutorials featuring the product. People had mixed reviews on the product. Nonetheless, I still bought it because I like how it looks on somebody else's lips.
** Note that, I did not do a swatch on myself before purchasing, because I bought it at Carousell.
When I received it, I put the product to test. Oh, did I mentioned that this is a matte formula lipstick. Just so you know, I applied lip balm beforehand. Application wise, it was quite messy. The product won't come out from the tube. I had to squeeze the tube hard in order to get the product out. The sponge applicator did little help in distributing the product evenly to my lips. The texture of it was not that fantastic. I immediately knew that it will dry my lips out just by the texture alone. I leave it on for about 10 mins or so and poof, CRACK LIPS ! Shade wise, it was okay for me but because of my pigmented lips, the colour pay off is not that great at all.
You may think that I would give up on this product on the first try but I did not. I wanted to love this product and so I tried again, prolly about 4 times just to be sure that it was not the right lipstick for me. Still, it did not work on my lips. But of course, this does not make me want to stop trying Etude House products !
I still have to keep finding for that right shade eh !
Leave your thoughts in the comment section below if you have tried the Etude House's Rosie Lip Tint 07 in Tea Rose.
Cheers, xoxo !
