Hunting down the perfect "my lips but better" lipstick can be quite a daunting task. Here, I have with me the Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in hopes that it will make my lips look 10x better. I swatched a few shades from the range (as well as others) to see what colour suits me best. As you have already know, I'm looking for something of a nude colour so that I can use it everyday.
I love Burt's Bees, in general, especially their lip balm so I thought why not try their other lip products that they have. I chose the lip crayon because the others have a glossy finish to them and according to the website, their lip crayon is a matte finish. FYI, I'm not a massive fan when it comes to glossy lips.
I picked up Niagara Overlook which is a warm pink with slight peach undertone. Excellent choice of shade for everyday wear. Surprisingly, the colour payoff is good. It shows up on my pigmented lips.
But that did not stop me from trying further. I wanted to make sure that I really test out the product before making any conclusion. I used it for atleast a week to see if I get the same result. Sadly, it did.

In terms of formulation though, I did not quite like it. When I first applied it onto my lips, it looks good and the product glides on smoothly. However, after awhile, it dries out my lips and make them crack.

As with all matte lipsticks, prepping the lips first with a lip balm is essential especially for those who have chapped lips which in this case, I did not do it.
*smack forehead*
I, then, decided to apply lip balm first before using the lip crayon. The end result, still the same :(
Ouh well, I guess me and the lip crayon are not meant to be buddies. Maybe, I shall try using it as a blusher and see how it works. Hmmmmmmmm ...
I will still recommend this product to those who are looking / keen to use Au Naturel products. Either that, if you just want to expand your lipstick collection, go ahead and give this a whirl !
Cheers, xoxo !
