I have since move on from my Shu Uemura lipstick. I still like it though, however, the shade can be a little bit too pink for my liking. Today, I'm going to talk about the KIKO Milano Double Touch 10 Hour Lipstick. I didn't plan on getting this. I was introduced to it by the sales assistant at the KIKO Milano Store on Oxford Street as the lipstick I wanted was out of stock.
It comes in a double ended tube. On one side, you get the colour base, and on the other end of the tube is the gloss. I got the shade 103 Strawberry Pink which is a reddish-browny tone of lipstick with a hint of gold speckle running through it. Initially, I hated the colour, but the assistant that helped me a lot when I was there, explained to me that the shade is similar to the one I wanted and that this last longer, yadadadadada.....She even applied it to my lips. At the end, I got no choice, but to buy it.
Basically, you applied the colour base first on your lips and followed by the gloss. It is a 2-in-1 product. You can choose to go matte or add the shine. You do you, girl~
Anyway, back to the lipstick...The colour base formulation is incredible. I would categories this as a lip cream+stain product. When it comes to lipstick, I look for something that is of a non-drying formula, lucky me, this does not do that to my lips. It comes with a small, flocked applicator which makes application easy, precised and very smooth. On me, the shade is similar to my lip colour. With the added red tone, it helps to enhanced my face complexion, making it appear less dull.
As for the gloss, I did try once, but you know me, I don't fancy glossy lips. Therefore, I can't comment on it. Though, I can say that it helps to reduce the stickiness of the base product.
Longevity wise, this leaves a stain after a few hours of wearing. I kind of like it, as it covers up my dark pigmentated lips. I can still see it peeking through, but very subtly. The 10 Hour claim? Come on, let's be real, no makeup product will last that long. If there is, then take my money now!
One thing that I don't like about this is that the product dries sticky. Weird huh? But I find a way to make it less sticky. The trick is to go over the lipstick using the applicator at least 3 to 4 times. This helps to reduce the stickiness. A little side note, beware of the gold speckles or should I say, micro glitters? Hmph...If you hate glitters/speckles, for whatever reason, then stay away from this! Anyway, fret not, the speckle disappears after application. You can't barely see it unless you go close up.
You guys know that I'm on a mission to find the perfect everyday shade for my lips, and you might be wondering if this is the one, NOPE! Still haven't found it yet! The search will still continue... If you have tried any of the Double Touch Lipstick, please leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
For my fellow Singaporean, I know it's hard to get your hands on KIKO Milano products because they don't ship here. You can try looking up in Carousell. I have seen a few KIKO products being sold over there. But if you have any lobangs, please feel free to leave any information below, it will be really helpful:)
Have a great weekend ahead. I shall see you in my next post, xoxo!
