We all know that famous Ruby Woo. MAC's cult product. Classic true blue red lipstick that every girl in this entire universe needs to have in their makeup stash. However, the downside about this bad girl is its texture and formulation - super matte and very drying to the lips. For people who suffers from dry/chapped lips knows that Ruby Woo will never be their best friend. And I'm one of them.
Let's rewind back to the past ...
I got my Ruby Woo as a gift from my little brother (who saves up most of his savings to get me this) for my birthday. I was watching a tutorial on YouTube featuring Ruby Woo and immediately fell in love with the colour and how it looks on the lip. Back then, I didn't know about its formulation. All I know is that I had to get it. My first application was okay and the shade suits my skin tone. But then disaster happens ! It started to cling onto the dry patches of my lip. I was put off by how my lips look. I had to remove the lipstick immediately. For awhile, I didn't use it until I discovered that I could apply lip balm underneath a lipstick. And so I did. Many of the lip balms that I put underneath Ruby Woo did not work well. Bearing in mind that I did wait for the lip balm to work it's magic on my lips, however, with the case of Ruby Woo, for some reason the magic didn't happen. I was again distraught.
Back to the future ...
I've fallen head over heels with Ruby Woo all over again. All thanks to Nuxe's Reve De Miel Lip Moisturising Stick. It took me a while to find which lip balm works best under Ruby Woo but I think I found my perfect mix ! I stumbled upon the brand Nuxe while browsing through Watson. Before that, I have heard/read about the brand, but never knew if they sell it here. I always wanted to get their famous Nuxe's Reve De Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm but I was out of my budget that day and could only get the lip moisturising stick instead. I didn't straight away test it with Ruby Woo though, because I need to experiment with it first, to see if it works wonders on my lips. It does what it says on the tube. Super moisturizing and does not feel greasy at all on the lips.
After much testing, I decided to use it underneath Ruby Woo and boy, it works ! Unfortunately, after a few hours of wearing, my lips started to crack (which occurs to me with most lipstick). Nonetheless, I was happy that I found a lip combo that works. Even if it's just a few hours, I still can rock my Ruby Woo without having to worry about it clinging to my dry patches.
Happy Sunday Everyone <3
Cheers, xoxo !
W:)
