Favourites // December Edition

It's been a while since I last did a monthly favourite post. That's because I've been using the same old products over and over again. But today, I have a few new products that I've tried over the past month and have fallen in love with them. Let's get on with it.

I didn't mean to switch to a new cleanser, but my local C.K. store ran out of my Olay Fresh Cleanser and I really need it for my Melbourne trip. So I browse through the beauty section and came across UV Aqua White Cool Cleanser. I have been using their Renewal Gel for years, but never look into their cleansers. So I thought why not get it. The day I got it, is the day I start using it. I find it has the same consistency as my previous cleanser. It didn't break me out. One difference I notice is that it does not leave my skin feeling tight like the previous cleanser which I like. Yup, it is a foamy type of cleanser.

Next is the Garnier Fructis Pure Volume Dry Shampoo. I bought this during my Melbourne trip because I didn't want to shampoo my hair that often. I've never heard Garnier doing dry shampoo so I was curious and bought it. Unlike, other dry shampoos, the powder that comes out of the bottle is so fine that you literally can't see it on your hair which is a good thing for dark hair girls. The smell of it is not so overpowering. The downside of it though is that it only gives a little volume to the hair or at least for my hair.

I got given this sample travel size Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray Thirsty Skin Relief from my mom. I have read/heard people talked about this. I use it after I moisturise my face. It acts as a double moisturizer. As the name suggests, it relieves the skin from feeling dehydrated and I totally agree with it. After I sprayed on, I will then massage it on my face so that every part is covered with this bad boy. But the hefty price tag though, makes me think twice about buying the full size. I may need to find a substitute for this. Any suggestions ?

Moving on to makeup ...

I'm a lip balm kind of person. I don't do lipstick unless it is a special occasion. As you may already know, I have super duper pigmented lips. So buying nude lipstick is hard for me because most of the time, the colour does not translate well on my lips. I have no idea what got into me, but this past month, however, got me slabbing on lipstick to work. I got 07 Nudist by Bourjois under their Rouge Velvet Edition many months ago, but didn't have the courage to wear it. You may have heard lots of bloggers raves about the range. This little bad boy is the real deal. In the tube, the colour looks disgusting, but when you swatch it, the colour is stunning. To me, it comes of pink with brown undertone. It leans towards the mauve-y side of the spectrum. Like a dirty warm rose colour. I would categories it as a dark nude. For my olive complexion, it makes a good "my lips but better" kind of lipstick. PS: I've seen swatches on light/pale skin and it looks gorgeous!

Every girl out there is always at war with their dark under eye circle. If you do not have any, then you're an alien. Go away! But if you have, fret not cause this girl got your back! The NYX Dark Circle Concealer will be your next BFF. It has peach/salmon-coloured undertone that cancels out any blue or purple discolouration. Whenever I apply this, I looked 3 times awake than usual. The longevity of the product is also not that bad. I would say it lasted on me for about 3-4 hours. Mind you, I have an oily skin so whatever I put will disappear at a much faster rate.
Overall, it is a good product and the price tag won't hurt your wallet.

Have a happy Sunday ahead !

Cheers, xoxo !

  1. Such great picks! I can't believe I still haven't tried anything from NYX yet, everything always seems amazing. The Clinique Moisture Surge spray is also something that I'd love to try. But I agree their products are on the pricy side.
