Wanderlust // Melbourne Photo Diary (Part Two)
During our time in Melbourne, we stayed with a couple who has the most coolest/funky/hippie apartment. We went to see the Great Ocean Road. We took the ever famous locomotive train, Puffing Billy. We walked from St Kilda all the way to Brighton Beach to see the gorgeous Bathing Houses and back to St Kilda (this time round we took the train back) for some adventure at the Luna Park.
Since we are travelling on a budget, we went to Coles supermarket to get our daily necessities. Popped by Queen Victoria Market to get souvenirs for people back home. Soaked up the atmosphere at Pharan Market.Wander along Chapel St, Bourke St, Swanston St, Collins St and other streets. Went to the most hipster side of Melbourne, which is Fitzroy.
If you are like me and is obsessed with thrift shops, Melbourne is the right place. Over there, it is known as Op Shop. And yes, both me and A, went crazy over it. Most of our shopping are from there. I actually lost track of how many Op Shops we enter. Back home, we lack beautiful gardens, hence we search for them. The Carlton Garden and the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne are massive.
Visited a couple of their museums. Immersed ourselves in the world of gravity at Hosier Lane. I'm not a coffee drinker, I drank my first ever Iced Coffee (decaf, or else I'll get a severe caffeine rush). You can never go wrong with Melbourne coffee because the locals love their beans to death. At the end of our trip, we went up to the Eureka Skydeck 88 to get the best view or should I say, bird's eye view of Melbourne. Yup, you can see the city from up there.
This may not be a detailed post about my trip but I hope it gives you a rough idea on what Melbourne is like. Have I fallen in love with Melbourne ? I have definitely fallen madly in love with the city.
Cheers, xoxo !
