So it's the 3rd day of 2016. How are you guys doing? Pretty good eh? I hope so. Anyway, today I'll be sharing with you how I keep things organised. I'm in no way an expert on this topic but I do like to keep things in order so that I won't panic at the last minute. Knowing me, Gurllllllll, I will panic like nobody's business.
To avoid that from happening, I bought a planner. Yup, your regular standard planner. Hold up, this may sound boring but, trust me a planner work wonders. There are different types of planners you can find out there- daily, weekly monthly planners and most hype about currently- The Happiness Planner (check this one out, it's crazily gorgeous!) etc. but my advised to you is to look for something that suits you. Look for a planner that will fit your needs. A planner that describe your daily lifestyle, basically.
For my personal preference, I would choose a weekly planner. This is because I like to plan things ahead. However, this time round, I decided to go with a daily one. I know this type of planner can be a bit annoying because they tend to have the timing indicated on it. Thankfully, this planner that I bought does not have it. The only thing indicated is the days number of 2016 (e.g.: 1 of 365).
After getting my fanciful planner, what do I do next? Well, I start jotting down all the things I need to do. Do not wait for the new year or a brand new month to start, get on straight away. It may sounds crazy but it really helps to keep things in check. Mostly, I will write down my to do list. At times, I will indicate my budgeting/expenditures for the month or some times, I will jot down ideas.
Besides having a planner with me, I do have a calendar. This will act as my overview. In there, I will write down birthdates, specific events I'm attending and my vacation period. But as of this year, I decided to add in "Blog Post Day". This will act as reminder that I will need a blog post to be up on that particular day. You can get this minimalist calendar printable from here.
To keep things interesting, you can use colour markers/pens to decorate the planner and calendar. You can even use washi tapes to block out specific dates on the calendar. Currently, I'm sticking with my trusty black/blue pens because I like to keep things minimal.
Above all that, I also have a mini notebook with me at all times (not in picture). This may sound too much. But hey, I can't possibly bring my clipboard and big ass planner with me everyday right?! SO when an idea pops up or I need to write down something, I can always do it with my notebook.
Some of you out there may think, why the hell am I doing it this way and wasting paper as well as ink when all I need is a phone. Yes, I can do it with my phone and the reason why I choose not to go that route is because I don't want to be constantly on my phone 24/7. When you're on it, you tend to visit social media more often than usual and by doing like this, I'm trying to cut down on the time I spent with my phone.
How do you keep yourself organised ? Please leave your comments down below. I wold love to hear them! Hope you guys have a wonderful start to 2016. I will check back again with another post:)
Have a great Sunday!
