What's In My Makeup Bag #1

In today's post, I will like to share with you what's inside my makeup bag. I personally love watching other people videos and reading blog post on this so I thought why not do it on the blog. I only started using makeup bag when I first started working. Before this, I used to dumb everything inside my bag.

Let's talk about the makeup bag. It is from Marc Jacob and it belongs to my mom. She got this when she bought one of their perfume. I borrowed from her because I do not have a suitable bag to store my makeup. I have been searching for the perfect bag, but I still have not found the one. This may sound crazy but yeah, I'm a bit picky when it comes to makeup bag. I want something that fits in my work bag, something that is minimal yet have a very cool print on it and the bag must suit with my style. Yes, people, I want everything to incorporate nicely from my outfit to my bag and to my makeup bag to my shoes.

On to the bits and bobs! First up is the NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand. I have been trying out this for some time and I must say that my concealing game is stronger than ever. The shade I'm using is 06 Glow. In conjuction with the NYX Dark Circle Concealer, these two bad boys helps to cancel out the darkness under the eye.

When I need to tight-lining, NYX Retractable Eyeliner in the colour black is my go to. Personally, I hate tight lining because I have very sensitive eyes. It gets all watery and itchy after application, but thankfully, it applies smoothly and quite easily. I wish this comes in a waterproof version though.

Up next is mascara. If I have to pick one makeup item to use in my lifetime, I would choose mascara. Simply because it opens up the eyes. People with hooded eyelids, listen up! Mascara is your best friend. Load these baby onto your lashes and see the difference it makes to the eyes. (Ps: you can thank me later!) I'm currently trying out this Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Boost mascara. I will have a in-depth review on this some time later!

Optional item that I have in my makeup bag is my Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner. I rarely do winged liner but when I fancy one, this comes in handy.

For the perfect brows, you need a brow gel. I have the NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel. This does the job at keeping my brows in place. But before doing this step, I like to fill in my brows with the ELF Instant Lift Brow Pencil. Pencils are great if you are in a rush. More about my brows and how I do them in an upcoming post!

Following that, I got my NUXE Rev De Miel Lip Moisturising Stick. Forever a staple in my bag! Me and my dry lips are constantly fighting with each other and this balm helps to calm us down.

Continuing that, I have the Naked Basics eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay. Not sure how it got in the makeup bag, but I'm not an eyeshadow wearer unless needed. I'm never a fan of neutral eyeshadows but this palette works well as a contour, highlighter and setting powder for under the eyes. Especially the shade, Faint. It is a brownish gray colour. A good shade to use has a contour for olive skin, but just be careful with the application! You don't want to look like you've just got beaten up. Another shade that I'm loving is W.O.S. This can pass has a setting powder for under the eyes. Such a versatile palette eh!

Moving on to the lips, my current favourite is the Shu Uemura lipstick in the shade BG944 from their Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte. Perfect for pigmented lips. Not too pink, not too red. Compliments my olive skin well.

The last item in the bag is my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full-Coverage Foundation. I got the shade Tan Honey. Again, not sure why is it inside the bag. This is my first ever high end purchase. It's an alright foundation for me. I don't hate it neither do I love it. It does its job at covering blemishes. Many people say it gives off the matte finish but, on me it gives that slight dewy finish to the skin. However, I think this foundation cause me to break out. Whenever I used this, I see at least 2 pimple spaceship landed on my face. Despite having SPF 15, this foundation photographs beautifully. But for everyday use, I'll pass that.

Phew! That is quite a lot of items in a bag for a person who don't put on a full face of makeup everyday.

Have a great week ahead! And to my Chinese friends, I wish you all, A Happy Lunar New Year! See you in my next post!

xoxo, W:)
