Oily face and Dewy Foundation ... Does it work?
Am I the only one with an oily skin that likes dewy foundation? I don't entirely hate matte foundation, however, I much prefer dewy/satin-like foundation has it does not look has if I piled on tonnes and tonnes of makeup.
Common beauty tips you probably heard a millions times is that matte foundations are best suited for oily skin type people. I tend to ignore that tip away as I find it ridiculous. I mean to each its own, right? To me, matte foundation does not give that skin-like coverage that I usually go for. Yes, I do have a matte foundation which is my Tarte Amazonian 12 Hour Clay Foundation, but I only use that for occasions where I need my base to last for a long time. Plus, matte foundation can look cakey if not applied properly. However, for work or running errands kind of day, I like to use something light or with a less coverage or at times, nothing at all.
My current go-to foundation at the moment is from Rimmel. It's their Match Perfection and I got the shade 400 Natural Beige. This is a very comfortable foundation to wear because it's does not feel sticky, heavy or tacky at all. I, also, noticed that it helps to smooth the skin out. Application wise, it's easy and the foundation blends in seamlessly into the skin. For everyday, I normally use my fingers to apply. It's quicker and the finish is the same as when you use a brush. The end result, is a soft focus satin finish. It's like my skin but better.
This foundation gives you a thin coverage, perfect for people like me, who does not prefer a full-on, dolled-up face. Without primer, it lasted for a solid 3-4 hours, maybe 5 hours (max.) Of course, having oily skin, in order to work with dewy foundations, you have to use a matte primer to increase the longevity of product. In my case, I do not have a mattifying primer in my stash. However, to my surprise, this foundation stays longer on me than I expected it too be. The only downside about this foundation is that, it is heavily scented, hence, for those of you who are sensitive towards fragrance, then this foundation is best to avoid.
For a drugstore priced foundation, it comes in a heavy glass bottle and a pump attached to it. the formulation too is top notch. I highly recommend this for people who have dry skin. As for my oily skin people out there, you can work this foundation too, just remember to use a mattifying primer or else you'll be looking like a grease up ball.
Leave your thoughts in the comment section below if you have tried this foundation or if you have any suggestion of foundation for me to try, leave it in the comment section below. I would love to hear from you guys! Oh not to mentioned, for my local girls/boys, you can get this here.
Have a great week ahead! See you in my next post x!
