Hi! Back with another review/my thoughts on the Rimmel Extra 3D Lash Mascara. I got this in Boots while I was in London a few weeks back. If you read my previous post, you will know that I went crazy in Boots especially at the Rimmel London section. As mentioned previously, it's hard to get hold of Rimmel products here, you have to search online to find stores that stock them up.
Rimmel has quite a selection of mascaras to choose from hence, I was spoil for choices and couldn't decide on which one to get. All I know is that, on my list of things to get, only stated "Rimmel Mascara" and not the version of it. Great help, eh?! After much thought, I narrowed it down to 2 mascaras. I can't remember what is the name of the first mascara I choose, but I ended up getting the second one (which is this one) because the "3D" excites me a lot.
The brush is not too big nor too thin. It is made up of plastic bristle however, warning alert, the bristles are sharp and spiky. Be careful when applying, because this bad boy can hurt your waterline like a B****! It took me quite awhile to get used to the brush, because of how sharp and spiky it was, but once you get the hang of it, then it should not be a problem. The formula of this mascara is wet. I'm not so concerned about whether the mascara is wet or dry as long as it performs its duty, I'm good.
Also, when you turn the brush at different angles, the bristles have different sizes, the second picture shows a thin bristles while the third shows a thicker set of bristles. I assume that by having different bristles sizes, it will give the lashes that 3D, plump up lashes.
I shall let the pictures below do the talking...
My bare lashes.
One solid full coat. See the dramatic difference?! Unlike any mascara I've tried, this gives immediate effect. Also, close up, you can see that it does give you that definition which I always look for in a mascara.
Second coat applied. My invisible lashes are now in it's full glory! However, if you look closely, you can see clumps starting to emerge. I guess the more coats you apply, the more clumpy it gets. Personally, I don't like clumpy or spidery lashes, but because of how the mascara gives that effect towards my lashes, I will continue using it.
Aside to the spiky brush and how clumpy it can get, this mascara is worth the try. It stays put all day and does not smudge at all. At just £4.99, I think this mascara is a steal. For my local girls/boys, you can get your hands on this mascara here. Have any of you tried this mascara yet? If yes, leave your thoughts in the comment section!
See you in my next post, x!
