Eyeshadow Primer for Medium to Dark Skin

Aloha! I'm back with another weekend post but first, how you guys doing? I hope everything is a-okay:) In today's post, I will be talking about the ever so famous NYX Jumbo Pencil in the shade 604 Milk. It is essentially an eyeshadow stick however, for people with medium to dark skin tone, then this can be your alternative eyeshadow primer and life saviour!

Who else gets frustrated when the eyeshadow you're trying to pack on the lids doesn't come off the same when it is on the palette, especially those neutral coloured eyeshadows? Yup, every single time I try to pack those colours, it just won't appear as nice as it is on the palette/pan. Even by using primer like the Urban Decay Primer Potion too does not work. Don't get me wrong here, the UD Primer potion is awesome.

So, I resort to using a white base as my eyeshadow primer. There are tons and tons of beauty brands making white base primer, but I have set eyes on the NYX Jumbo Pencil in 604 Milk. The reason being that one of my favourite beauty gurus, Nikkie from Nikkietutorials used this a while back for her makeup looks and I just had to get it in honour of her. When I got it in Sephora, it was the last one that they have. Hooray for me! The Jumbo Pencils cost $10 each.

This is a stark white creamy base product that applies smoothly. As you can see from the picture above, the intensity of the shade is very opaque. You can layer and build up without worrying that it will get patchy or creases on the lids. You might be thinking that using a white shadow will alter the tone of your eyeshadow, I'm afraid this does not do it at all. In fact, this helps to intensify weak eyeshadow pigmentation. What I normally do is I will place this all over the eyelids and use my fingers to blend. Since it's very creamy, it takes longer time to set, hence, you have time to work with your eyeshadow. You can even set it using a powder and it will not affect the eyeshadow at all.

This product is definitely a game changer for me. If you saw my previous makeup looks here and here, I have been using this as my base to create both looks and I'm certainly impressed by it. It is worth the try!

If you have tried any of the jumbo pencil, which one is your favourite?

See you on my next post! Happy Weekend!

W:)
