You can't ignore the fact that contouring has become a phenomenon ever since the existence of Kim K. Even before Kim K, contouring has long been in the beauty industry. Until, one fine day it became a sensation (obsession, I would say). Of course, if you're Kim K or a her fan, you might want to go overboard with the contouring. Common people like us do not need that much, then again..you do you. For me, it depends on the occasion.
If you are still living under a rock, and have no idea what's the fuss about contouring, well it's basically carving out your face without going under the knife. If have the money you can go under the knife to remove your imperfections. Majority of us can't afford to do as such so contouring is the answer to all of it.
Anyhoo...back to the main point here. For long, I have been using Faint (from the UD Naked Basic palette) to contour, but I find that it is too dark for me. So I had to search for a shade that suits me without making me look like I just got a punch! I started with Sephora and went straight ahead to their own brand display to see if they got any. And boy, they have plenty to choose. My hands was covered with 50 shades of brown. After much silent discussion in my head, I finally settled with 290 Danger in Paradise.
On the pan, it looks pale and warm toned, but when you swatched it, the colour appears about 2 shades darker than my skin. I would describe it has a neutral brown shade. Not too warm, not too cool but lean towards the warmer spectrum.
I used my RT setting brush to apply. You might want to go light-handed with this one as it is quite pigmented. You can see me using this on my last blog post here (heads up, the camera picks the contour well, hence it looks sharper compared to real life). I would then go over with my foundation brush or my RT Complexion sponge to blend everything in to soften the edges.
You can get your hands on this at any Sephora outlet or you can buy it on their website here. Have a great week ahead!
W:)
